Human Trafficking

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimates that nearly 200,000 unique incidents of sexual exploitation of minors happen annually in the U.S. — and yet, most Americans remain unaware of this devastating problem.

The grisly and perverse details of human trafficking make it a hard reality to stomach and confront, but this must change. We are committed to raising awareness on this issue and working to end the tragedy of human trafficking in Nevada and across America.

Faith & Freedom has joined the fight to combat trafficking through the following:

  • Passed the “End Modern Slavery Initiative Act” as a part of the National Defense Authorization Act to allocate federal funds for a non-profit foundation dedicated to cutting human trafficking.
  • Working with Congress to pass “The Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act” (SESTA) to amend Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to ensure that websites that facilitate sex trafficking can be held liable and victims can get justice.

Criminal Justice Reform

Nevada has one of the highest incarceration rates in the country, even ranking above the national average. Mass incarceration only creates more problems for our society, and the historic inequities in sentencing has created an expensive revolving door of recidivism.

Our courts are overcrowded and backlogged with archaic sentencing procedures that hand out over-the-top punishments for minor drug offenses. Justice must be served, but we also should work to find alternative ways — by funding and providing resources — to get people back on the right path. We gain much more by helping people who have served their time transition into a productive member of society, rather than a repeat offender.

The Nevada Faith and Freedom Coalition believes there is still more work to be done in reforming our criminal justice system here in Nevada and across America.

Helping Nevada Families

Nevada families continue to struggle with the damaging effects of the COVID-19 shutdowns. Combined with the current challenges of an economy in recession and out of control inflation, Nevadans face an uncertain economic future that seems to be only getting worse.

We are committed to helping Nevada families during these challenging times through innovative new programs and resources that offer a hand-up and a fresh start. Nevada Faith & Freedom is working to partner with community organizations that bring renewed investment into our communities and give Nevada families a choice for a better future.
